Affiliate Marketing: Three Recipes for Failure
May 2nd
If you have ever given any thought to trying your hand at affiliate marketing, you have probably encountered some of the hyperbole that drives the industry. “Convert your car to run on water”, “get free satellite TV” or even “I made $3372.46 on my first day” are examples of the sorts of phrases that one might encounter in the world of marketing for information products online.
Hype aside, the market for such product is a thriving one. Consumers spend billions of dollars every year on information products online and there are a number of people who earn a handsome living promoting such products as affiliates. The downside comes when would-be marketers decide to join in and find themselves unable to earn their first dollar.
There are a number of reasons why more than 90% of people who try their hand at online marketing fail, but here are three significant examples:
Failure to get to work. When you make the decision to engage in online marketing, you are working for yourself. No one is going to give you orders or tell you what to do. It’s up to you to decide what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Many people who are accustomed to being part of the regular workforce are simply not used to being self-employed, which requires the discipline to actually get started on a project.
Information overload. There are a lot of books out there about how one might go about promoting something via the Internet or by conventional means, such as direct mail marketing. A lot of well-meaning people load up on these books, read them all, nod knowingly as they read chapter after chapter about Websites, hoplinks, hosting plans, autoresponders and commission plans. After a while, there can be a tendency to become overwhelmed by all of the information to a point where a sort of paralysis sets in. Instead of getting to work, the would-be marketer simply sits at her desk, thinking “There is too much to do. I don’t know where to start.”
Failure to keep at it. Online marketing is an ongoing task. Every day, one needs to look for new products to promote, new ways to promote them, and ways to make current methods work better for increased profitability. It can, over time, become tedious work, and not everyone is well suited to constant research and Website tweaking,
It is possible to earn a living through affiliate or online marketing, but doing so is hard work that is not suited to everyone. The job requires diligence, patience, and a lot of time. The rewards are potentially great, but in order to succeed, it takes more effort than the industry’s ever-present hype would suggest.

Financing Your Export Initiatives The Modern Way
May 2nd
With 27 countries in the European Union and one of the world’s largest trading zones on our doorstep, there’s little wonder that more and more companies are turning to export as a means of boosting their business.
Exporting however, isn’t a step to be taken lightly and kick-starting an export initiative can be costly. The good news is that with thorough planning and the right finance partner, the rewards can be impressive.
A fundamental challenge facing exporters is cashflow. Demands on funds are huge and it’s easy to find them spread more thinly than is comfortable: there’s the investment required to seek out potential markets and the need to offer attractive terms of credit in order to win new contracts and customers.
Funds are also needed to finance the growth stimulated by the export drive and all this is going on against a fund-sapping back drop of varying time zones, currencies, languages and trading rules and regulations that may slow down payment and tie up funds for longer than anticipated, leaving the business starved of cash when it needs it most.
Traditionally, exporters have relied on Letters of Credit to help alleviate these pressures and protect themselves when trading with overseas customers. These could be costly to put in place, but worked well when goods were moving slowly and at irregular intervals because they ensured that the exporter would ship within a given timeframe and that the importer would pay the invoice in full by a specified date.
Today the export process is quicker and Letters of Credit are largely outdated. Goods are being shipped faster and documentation often lags behind. Thus, customers are becoming less interested in doing business with suppliers that insist on using Letters of Credit because they have to commit funding to support purchases up front and deal with an excess of paperwork. To be competitive it’s essential to be prepared to base your export initiative on ‘open account’ terms – issuing an invoice on the despatch of goods or services and giving the customer somewhere between 30 and 90 days to pay.
It’s not difficult to see how crippling this could be for the exporter. Even assuming he’s done his homework – and it’s essential to verify the credit-worthiness of potential customers as thoroughly as possible before entering into any overseas transaction – the risks of payment default are much higher than in the domestic market.
But all is not lost. The key is to find the right funding partner and funding mechanism to help alleviate the risks associated with exporting and stabilise the cash flow required to fund it.
Factoring and invoice discounting fit the bill perfectly.
These have been well documented at home; reputable providers tailor flexible funding arrangements to meet the specific needs of clients based on the value of their debtor book, releasing up to 90% of the value of outstanding invoices back to the client immediately and taking responsibility for collecting the debt when it falls due. In the past 12 months nearly 48,000 companies have used this type of funding to help stabilise their cash flow and finance growth. This this is not going unnoticed by the export market.
Increasing numbers of businesses are turning to factoring and invoice discounting to support their export initiatives because it helps them to offer competitive open account trading without the risks. Not only will a good factoring partner investigate the credit rating of a potential customer on your behalf and establish lines of credit, he will assume the credit risk, give 100% protection against write offs, manage and collect overseas receivables and provide immediate cash advances against outstanding invoices.
Too good to be true? Not really. Certainly there’s a cost associated with such a facility, but it’s a variable expense based on sales volume and those entrepreneurial enough to take the plunge overseas should consider it a fair price to pay for the peace of mind and financial stability it brings to what could otherwise be a high risk strategy.

How To Become A Super Affiliate In Niche Markets
May 2nd
Over the past years, web hosting has grown bigger than it used to be. With more companies getting into this business and finding the many benefits it can give them, the demand for web hosting has never been higher. These seem to be the trend of today.
38 million people have put up their very first websites online this year 2005 alone. It is estimated that by 2008, the internet sales industry will top then dollar bank. And to think, majority of those sites will be offering different affiliate programs for people to choose and participate into.
This only means one thing. It is easier now to find the right web host for your application. The possibility of quality web hosting companies separating themselves from the rest of the industry is anticipated. If this is done, the unprofessional and incompetent ones will suffer.
Support will be the number one consideration for people when choosing a web host. It will be obvious that traditional advertising will become less and less effective. Most people would rather opt for the web host based on things that they see and hear. Also based on the recommendations by those who have tried them and have proved to be a successful.
This is a great opportunity for web hosting affiliates and resellers alike. There would hundreds of web hosting and programs to choose from that the difficulty in finding the right one for them is not a problem anymore.
How does one become a successful affiliate in the niche markets using web hosting?
If you think about it, everyone who needs a website needs a web hosting company to host it for them. As of now, there is really no leading hosting industry so most people choose hosts based from recommendations. Usually, they get it from the ones that have already availed of a web hosting services.
With the many hosts offering affiliate programs, there is the tendency to find the one which you think will work best for you. Think of the product you will be promoting. Pattern them to the site and see if they are catering to the same things as you are.
When you have been with one host for quite some time and seem not to be making much despite all your effort, leave that one and look for another. There is no use in trying to stick to one when you would be before off in another one. Things will only have to get better from there because you already have been in worst situations.
Try this out. If you are quite happy and satisfied with your web host, try to see if they are offering an affiliate program you can participate on. Instead of you paying them, why not make it the other way around; them paying you. The process can be as easy as putting a small powered by or hosted by link at the bottom of your page and you are already in an affiliate business.
Why choose paying for your for your web hosting when you do not have to? Try to get paid by letting people know you like your web host.
Always remember that when choosing a web host, choose the one that is known for its fantastic customer support. There are also many hosting affiliate programs. Residual affiliate program is also being hosted. This is the program wherein you get paid a percentage every month for a client that you refer. This can allow you to have a steady source of income. With perseverance, you can even be quite successful in this field.
There are a lot of niche markets out there just waiting for the right affiliate to penetrate to them and make that dollars dream come true. Knowing which one to get into is being confident enough of your potentials and the good results you will be getting.
Web hosting is just one affiliate market you could try out and make some good and continuous income. Just remember that to be successful on your endeavor also means that time, effort and patience is needed.
Nobody has invented the perfect affiliate market yet. But some people do know how to make it big in this kind of market. It is just knowing your kind of market and making the earnings there.

Joe Dimaggio Baseball Memorabilia: an Abc for the New Collector
May 2nd
For most baseball fans, the excitement derived from the sport is simply all about the love for the game. But for the really passionate baseball enthusiast, collecting baseball memorabilia is the thing that makes the sport a worthwhile enterprise instead of just a favorite pastime. No wonder then that collecting baseball memorabilia has evolved into a multi-million dollar pursuit; an investment if you must.
In the field of collecting baseball memorabilia, few names in baseball can be called hot items or choice picks. And among the top names that most collectors try to get their hands on is Joe DiMaggio. He was and still is one of the most revered and popular players of the sport. An inducted member of the baseball Hall Of Fame, he had set records in baseball during his time, some of which are still impressive even at present standards and have yet to be broken by the new generation of sluggers.
If you plan to collect Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia, always bear in mind that the condition of each piece of memorabilia is the most important factor to consider. Rare Joe DiMaggio pieces that have been neglected over the years or, worse, pieces that are bogus will be greatly devalued, if not found totally good-for-nothing. Therefore, always be on your toes when buying Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia; remember counterfeiters abound in the field of baseball memorabilia collecting.
Before you start buying Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia, it is a good idea learn the basic grading systems used for valuing baseball collectibles. It is only through this standard grading system that you can decide if a Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia is worth keeping or not. This grading system will also determine the price of your Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia.
For instance, keep in mind that a bat actually used by Joe DiMaggio in a game will not have the same appraised value compared to the same item issued for display intentions only. A ball that has Joe DiMaggio’s signature on it will be valued based on the quality of the item and, of course, the clarity of the signature. Needless to say, for all signed collectibles, the authenticity of Joe DiMaggio’s signature is the most important factor to consider in putting value to the particular item. The rareness of the item is also given weight as to how much a Joe DiMaggio baseball merchandise is worth.
Joe DiMaggio baseball cards are among the most common memorabilia items bought and sold in the baseball souvenir market. Unfortunately, baseball cards can be the most delicate type of baseball memorabilia. Proper care must be ensured to preserve the priceless value of Joe DiMaggio baseball cards. Always remember to keep rare Joe DiMaggio cards away from wet surfaces; keeping your cards in plastic sleeves away from light may keep Joe DiMaggio’s image good as new.
Surely, even for some people who are not fervent believers of baseball, collecting baseball memorabilia can be a great source of amusement and, yes, investment return. At the very least, the feeling of being in the company of avid fans who have mountains of baseball collectibles and stories can be magnificent, if not depictive of a true American tradition. So it is always a good idea to have a stash of baseball memorabilia; and your collection can not be any good unless you have Joe DiMaggio baseball memorabilia.

Allergic Reaction Therapy And Medications
May 1st
Allergy shots are given to some people who have persistent and disruptive allergy symptoms. The shots do not treat symptoms, but by altering the immune response they prevent future reactions. (This is referred to as immunotherapy.) Treatment involves a series of shots, each containing a slightly greater amount of the antigen(s) that cause the reaction. Ideally, the person will become “desensitized” to the antigen(s) over time. The effectiveness of shots varies by individual.
Anti-allergy medications are of many types. The choice of medication and how it is given depends on the severity of the reaction.
For relief of long-term allergies such as hay fever or reactions to dust or animal dander, the following medications may be prescribed.
Long-acting prescription antihistamines, such as cetirizine (Zyrtec), fexofenadine (Allegra), and loratadine (Claritin), can relieve symptoms without causing sleepiness. They are meant to be taken for months at a time, even indefinitely. Most have to be taken only once a day and last for 24 hours.
Nasal corticosteroid sprays are widely prescribed for nasal symptoms not relieved by antihistamines. These prescription medications work very well and are safe, without the side effects of taking steroids by mouth or injection. These sprays take a few days to take effect, and must be used every day. Examples are fluticasone (Flonase), mometasone (Nasonex), and triamcinolone (Nasacort).
In some people, cromolyn sodium nasal spray prevents allergic rhinitis, inflammation of the nose that occurs as an allergic reaction. Decongestants can restore sinus drainage, relieving symptoms such as nasal congestion and swelling and runny nose and sinus pain (pain or pressure in the face, especially around the eyes). They are available in oral forms and as nasal sprays. They should be used for only a few days, as they may have side effects such as high blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and nervousness.
Self-care at home is not enough in severe reactions. A severe reaction is a medical emergency. Do not attempt to treat or “wait out” severe reactions at home. Go immediately to a hospital emergency department. If no one is available to drive you right away, call 911 for emergency medical transport. For more information on what to do in a severe reaction, see Anaphylaxis.
An oral antihistamine, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Caution these may make you too drowsy to drive or operate machinery safely. They can affect concentration and interfere with children’s learning in school. These medications should be taken for only a few days. For rashes, an anti-inflammatory steroid cream such as hydrocortisone

Are you a weight loss surgery candidate?
May 1st
You have tried every weight loss program to lose weight and yet those confounded pounds keep piling up. Your doctor remarked that you are a walking time bomb and is only a matter of time before your life will be cut short by a massive stroke, heart attack or even certain types of cancer. You wring your hands in exasperation.
Your life is misrable. You have problem getting around. Simple household chores can be difficult to perform. Climbing up stairs leaves you terribly out of breath and a gigantic pounding headache. Even tying your shoe laces or crossing your legs are impossible tasks. The quality of your life sucks.
Faced with these physical handicapped, many severely overweight people are convinced that things will only get worse. Depression sets in and some may even be suicidal.
Are you facing these obesity related problems? If you are, then perhaps you may wish to consider weight loss surgery as part of your weight loss program.
Many research papers have found evidence that weight loss surgery as a weight management program can dramatically reverse many obesity related health problems and greatly improve your quality of life. You will also prevent new health problems from developing.
Check with your doctor whether a weight loss surgery program is for you. Usually, potential surgery patients will be assess on the following facts :-
A body mass index (BMI) of more than 40 for men and a BMI of over 35 for women. The patient is even more a likely candidate if there are historical records of obesity related medical conditions, such as diabetes, heart diseases and obesity induced musculoskeletal problems.
The potential patient must also show that attempts at losing weight through dieting and conventional weight loss programs did not work.
A person who undergoes a weight loss surgery needs to make a lifelong commitment to a new lifestyle, including a new nutrition and exercise regimen, otherwise the weight the patient lost from the surgery may come back again.
The result from a weight loss surgery program should not be measured merely by the amount of weight that is lost. It must also take into consideration improvements in a person’s health conditions. After the excess weight is lost, the improvement in the quality of life is an important consequence. An important objective of weight loss surgery is to improve a patient’s health, activity level, enjoyment of life and work productivity.
Most patients whom have been seriously overweight for most of their lives have had to adapt to the many physical, emotional and social consequences of obesity. Dramatic quality of life changes can occur after surgery and these can lead to important improvements in physical and mental anguish.
If you consider yourself to be a potential candiate for weight loss surgery, talk to your doctor. He may even recommend you good surgeons and post surgery counsellors.

Cystic acne – how to clean your acne skin
May 1st
In order to get rid of cystic acne you should adhere to strict cleansing. That is my best advice. Wash, wash, and wash your face. If you have blackheads, it means dirt is trapped, if you have cystic acne it means bacteria are trapped. And an oily face traps more dirt in so wash the oil away every night before you sleep and don’t think using harsh soaps will help. If you are naturally oily, the drier your skin is the more oil it will produce to counter react the dryness.
Use the Glycerin and Oat facial wash from Body Shop. It cleans your cystic acne face squeaky clean with leaving it dry. You can also use a good toner from Body Shop because you want to keep your pores close and not open to prevent dirt from getting in. Do not use a scrub. You will over activate your glands and have more breakouts. I believe at this point your skin is very sensitive but you may use a weekly masque (peel off or wash off masque) for deep cleansing.
During the day use oil blotters to ‘eat ‘ up the oil on your face. This works wonderfully if you can’t wash your face while you are outside. You can also use other products in pharmacies to dry up pimples while you sleep at night.
Learn to relax. That is a vital factor in your healing. The more you worry, the worse it gets believe me. I have been there done that. I have had acne for 10 years since I was 16 and now it has finally cleared up. Once your skin clears too, you can start using products with glycolic acid (Neo Strata) to peel away the old skin and scars to reveal newer skin. But do not do anything drastically. This will take time. You have to make sure your cystic acne problem clears before you use this as it can make you scar if you use it wrongly. You have had cystic acne for a long time, be prepared to spend the next 6-8 months in healing it. I wish you all the best.

How To Know What Your Pet Bird Is Saying To You Even If He Can’t Talk
May 1st
One of the unique aspects of having a bird for a pet is that this is one of the few pets that may actually be trained to talk. Many people feel that they’ll be able to communicate and have conversations with their pet birds but this may not be true in all cases. Even if a bird can talk fluently you must remember that even the smartest birds only have the intelligence of a toddler and therefore may not be able to tell you how they are feeling.
Whether your bird can talk or not, understanding what your pet is feeling is important to both you and your bird. One way to be able to do this is to be able to interpret his body language as this is a sure giveaway to his state of mind.
One good reason for understanding the body language of birds is that you can often avoid being bitten whether by your own pet or another exotic bird if you know when he is scared and when you should back off. If a bird is very scared, he will often try to make himself as thin as possible you will notice him standing very tall and looking very thin. His eyes may be dilated but they are not moving back and forth at all. In a way the bird is trying to make himself invisible – he thinks that if he makes himself as thin as possible and doesn’t move that the creature that is scaring him will overlook him.
If you try to reach into the cage to do pet or pick up a bird that is acting like this he may lash out with you in terror and you may get a nasty peck. The best thing to do is to squat down so that the bird is higher than you and look right at them with your eyes closed. Speak to him in a soft soothing tone and slowly open your eyes. This should help to relax the bird as they feel most comfortable when they higher than anyone else. The closing of your eyes is important because they consider blinking a sign of trust. Once you’ve got your pet bird into this state it doesn’t mean that he’s a can automatically let you reach in and pick them up you still want to use caution until you have him fully tamed.
If you bird is angry you will notice that his head is weaving back and forth and his eyes are dilated. He may be squawking loudly and leaning slightly forward for easy attack. His feathers will be puffed up. you might want to try distracting him with a millet sprayers favorite treat but you probably will want to get too close or you may experience a painful bite. When your bird is angry like this it’s best to let him come down before you try to approach him. Perhaps you might want to find out what made him angry so you can avoid this next time.
An excited bird might look similar to an angry bird with dilated pupils and he’ll be bobbing (not weaving) his head and have ruffled feathers. Depending on how excited he has his whole body to be moving around. He might be squawking and screeching sometimes loudly. An excited bird, even though he is happy, may also bite you because he’s too excited. It’s best to let him come down a little bit before handling.
A calm content bird will be sitting on his perch with one leg tucked up under him. He’ll be easy recognize due to his relaxed posture and he might groom oneself stretch out and even go to sleep. If you don’t make any sudden moves that startled her you can probably get them pop up when you finger and let you pet him easily when he is in a state of mind.
Knowing how your bird feels is important for training and ongoing companionship. Once your bird is very tame you probably won’t have to worry too much as he’ll welcome your attention, but in the beginning knowing whether he is frightened, angry or excited can help you gain his trust for easier training.
Lee Dobbins writes for http://pet-birds.pet-breeds.com where you can learn more about choosing, caring for and training your pet bird.
Removal Companies With A Difference
May 1st
With today’s interests all being of a transient nature it is no wonder that there are so many removal companies available. We spend half our lives acquiring things, putting things together and then removing them just to start all over again. Maybe it’s a control thing.
Take tattoos for instance. My teenager has spent about four years hankering after a permanent drawing on his body. He has listed all the different designs and names that he has thought about having in his quest to see my horrified face but I’m wiser than that. After telling him he could do that sort of thing after his eighteenth birthday, it didn’t feel so daring to him. He also watched his mates having them done and regretting them, particularly the daft idiots who got their girlfriends names tattooed.
Thank goodness then for the laser tattoo removal company. Tattoos are not easy to take off, it is a painful and costly experience but half of those that have them want them removed so we welcome the tattoo removal company.
Along similar lines but no skin involved comes the stain removal company. Removing anything from blood to chewing gum, this type of removal company can apply their services to furniture, clothing, cars and even pavements.
There are graffiti removal companies who spend their working lives cleaning off other peoples art work. Any street surface that resembles a blank canvas will see some mini person decorating it with their personal tag. Eventually, complaints will be made and companies will be called in to deal with the offending public tattoo.
If you need a pest removal company, then this is pretty easy as there are so many of them. Our residential areas have encroached on the natural wildlife, driving them further out and restricting their habitat further and further. This has led to a distinct lack of food for them and they have returned to residential areas in their droves to look for food. And now we need removal companies to get rid of them.
Hair removal companies are popular among the younger generation of girls. Not content with getting out the old bic razor and doing a home job everything has to be done in salons where they are stripped of all hair and sent out into the cold like skinned rabbits.
Asbestos removal companies have enjoyed a period of thriving business. Asbestos was used in many buildings years ago but in our quest for bigger and better properties, we have been pulling them down and building new. The removal of the asbestos from these buildings has to be done by specialist removal companies as it has been found to be a dangerous substance when disturbed.
And to move us to these newly constructed homes? Yes, of course, a removal company. Moving us all from A to B to C to D about as regularly as people used to change their socks. It seems houses have become disposable these days and people think nothing of relocating to another tow, another county or even another country if the climate and working conditions call for it. Whole families are uprooting and moving across continents to resettle somewhere else and as we have accumulated much more than what will fit on the back of a horse these days, removal companies are a must.
Removals expert Catherine Harvey looks at the varieties of removal companies that can assist any household.
